Otic (Ear) Medications

Otic preparations are made upon request by veterinary compounding pharmacies to treat ear infections in companion animals. They contain enrofloxacin, Itraconazole, and Triamcinolone in an anhydrous base to discourage fungal overgrowth. This combination of ear treatment addresses the patient’s antibiotic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory needs. Otic preparations are also available as anhydrous otic drops.

Otic preparations are available in a 1 lb jar ointment, 15 gm ointment dial-a-dose syringe, and 15 ml drops.

Antibiotic, antifungal, and steroid combinations available:

Enrofloxacin 0.5%, Intraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%

Ciprofloxacin 0.5%, Itraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%

Amikacin 5%, Itraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%

Gentamicin 0.5%, Itraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%

Polymixin 10Kun, Itraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%

Piperacillin 5%, Itraconazole 1%, Triamcinolone 0.1%
